Stockings
This man I'd known for so many years seemed so excited as he came over and got my attention. I knew he had another great brainstorm he needed me to help him implement. My mind was elsewhere as we strolled through the warehouse like office space, but I told him to buy me a cup of coffee and we'd talk it over. He said something about not having time for that when suddenly the landscape started to change.
The bright lights dimmed, the music came on, and the office suddenly seemed more like a rave. People I hadn't seen in years came pouring in through doors and from behind desks. Clothing started to fall off of a few folks and there was dancing going on.
I walked briskly through the now crowded room nodding good byes and grinning at all the faces I had almost forgotten over the years. I caught a pair of dark eyes across the room that I hadn't seen since my first few years of high school.
I walked straight towards the not-so-natural blonde. I knew I had a dumb grin on my face as she glared back, almost hostile - but unbroken. Within talking distance she turned away from me - towards the brunette next to her. They kissed - and you could tell it wasn't the first time. I think that's about the time I noticed her dark stockings. She looked back at me, her lips straight and her eyes sharp.
Unlike me, I reached out and grabbed her arm. She looked at my hand - and then back at me in disapproval. I pulled her halfway to me and paused. She broke and grined. Then I kissed her.
There was a violent crashing sound all around me. It jarred me out of a deep sleep, but woke me up to the pleasant noise of a thunderstorm. I felt weird, I don't normally have dreams like that.
